Ada Lou Minnie Rankin, 91, of 700 Portsmouth Ave., Bristol, Va., died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, in Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Grayson County, Va., and had lived most of her life in the Bristol area. She attended Lime Hill Baptist Church and was the widow of Fred F. Comer and Orville J. Rankin. Survivors include one son, the Rev. Cecil T. Comer, Bristol, Virginia; a daughter, Ellen K. Hickey, La Grande, Ore.; a grandson, Bill Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. Weaver Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

The Rev. Cecil Troy Comer, age 71, of 700 Portsmouth Ave., Bristol, Va., went home to be with his Lord at 5:25 a.m. Sunday, June 23, 2002, at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center following a long illness. Born on Dec. 23, 1930, in Cecil, Md., a son of the late Fred and Ada Porter Comer Rankin, he
resided here in his early life then moved to Florida where he lived for 26 years. He returned to this area in 1984. Rev. Comer has been a minister for the last 35 years. He had pastored Red Oak Baptist Church in Graceville, Fla., First Baptist Church in Davie, Fla., Parkway Baptist Church in Plantation, Fla., and for 11 years Lime Hill Baptist Church, Bristol, Va. Rev. Comer was a member of the Norfolk Avenue Baptist Church. He was a member of the Southern Baptist
Association. Rev. Comer was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 43 years, Willie Kegley Comer.
Rev. Comer will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, brother and for his love of Christ.
    Survivors include his wife, Frances L. Weatherley Comer of the home; a son, Bill Jackson and wife, Arlene of Hollywood, Fla., and their children, Carl, Jolene and David; one sister, Ellen Hickey and husband, Dave of La Grande, Ore.; stepchildren, Johnny and Alice Pope and Betty
Burke and Ernest Hinkle, all of Bristol, Tennessee; eight additional grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; 12 nieces; nine nephews; and special friends, Jack and Nancy Looney, Charles and Shirley Taylor, Jerri Browning, Bob King and family, the Kegley family and all those lead to Christ through his example.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2002, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. William T. Arnold, Pastor Kenneth Widner, the Rev. Carl Young and12 Brother Bobby King will officiate. Music will be provided by Anthony Mangrum with a special song by Adam McCracken. Burial will follow graveside services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2002, in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rocky Canter, Ernest Hinkle, Carl Hinkle, Scotty Ashley, Jason Moody, Timmy Smith, Tim Smith, Scott Smith and Keith McCracken. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Norfolk Avenue Baptist Church, 498 Norfolk Ave., Bristol, VA 24201.

Mrs. Willie L. Kegley Comer, 60, of 700 Portsmouth Ave., Bristol, VA, died Thursday, October 8, 1992, in Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Bristol and had lived in south Florida for 26 years before returning in 1986. She was a member of Lime Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Cecil T. Comer; one son, Bill Jackson, Hollywood, FL; one brother, Clarence Kegley, Bristol, TN; four sisters, Loretta Leonard, Marie Adams, Rosa
Smith and Polly Alexander, all of Bristol, TN; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Akard Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
